The Beautiful Brooche

An ornament fastened to clothing with a hinged pin and catch. The name brooch became common in Germany during the 19th century, they were called fibula, fürspann and agraffe were used. This is classed as the 'correct placement' for a brooch, this comes from following military tradition. Brooches may include gemstones, enamel work, or intricate metal designs. Medals and badges were worn on the left-side to keep the right-side free for saluting.
